A host of ultra-rich Australian businesspeople and celebrities have been prepared to fork out astronomical prices for apartments inside James Packer’s Crown Towers building for one compelling reason.

All of the 82 apartment spread across 72 floors have spectacular harbour views from every room – with the best offering an outlook over the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, despite the building’s position in Barangaroo, on the CBD’s western edge.

Residential properties with views of Sydney’s harbour are considered desirable not just among Australians, but across the world.

The views offered from The Crown are such that James Packer was quick to secure the penthouse for himself, which is believed to be worth $60 million. 

The billionaire’s 1,340sqm pad, spread across two levels on 48 and 49, is called the ‘Sky Castle’ and comes with six bedrooms, a cinema and gym.  

Packer, 52, secured purchased the space back in 2017, when the council had originally approved the construction of six luxury apartments with 18 bedrooms between them. 

All residents in Crown will also have access to a private gym, open-air tennis court and services such as a valet, cleaning and an on-call concierge.

Western Sydney property developers Arnold and Irene Vitocco – $22M  

Pub heir Stu Laundy (rumoured) – $14M

Investment banker Trevor Rowe and wife Julie – $13.5M

China-based French businessman Georges Furone-Defforey – $12.74M

Marketing guru Andrew Raso – $11.1M

Adventure entrepreneur Luke Hepworth – $9.4M

Retired booker Bob Blann paid $40million for a 515-square-metre unit, which takes up who whole of level 61.

Hoteliers Angelo and Sandy Elliot spent over $20million for an apartment, while Western Sydney developers Irene and Arnold Vitocco have put down $22million for their residence.

Pub heir and reality TV star Stu Laundy is rumoured to have spent $14 million on a bachelor pad in the complex. 

Investment banker and former Rothschild Australia chair Trevor Rowe and wife Julie have bought in for $14.5million.

China-based French businessman Georges Furone-Defforey forked out $12.74million for his unit.

Marketing guru Andrew Raso and adventure entrepreneur Luke Hepworth spent relatively modestly for their apartments –  $11.1million and $9.4million respectively. 

Mr Packer’s best friend Ben Tilley and his wife Tiffany are rumoured to be moving into the complex, and art collector Durva Gandhi has also previously expressed interest in securing one of the units.
