Ahead of a long summer weekend, these stars aren’t about to let you forget about the iHeartRadio Music Awards. After a year hiatus, the show is back in person and bringing some serious glam to the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre in LA. Some celebrities, like LL Cool J, are here to remind us that those sweatpants you’ve been wearing at home actually look pretty good all dressed up, while others, like Lil Nas X, are wearing the furthest thing from athleisure – cue his entrance in a metallic silver suit.
Just a thought: can Megan Fox give us a second to catch our breath? Less than a week ago, the actress attended the Billboard Music Awards wearing a sheer Mugler dress with very strategically placed cutouts, and on Thursday she stopped by the iHeartRadio Music Awards in another super-striking look. Her PDA with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly also might have had an influence.
Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are making a serious case for couples nail art this week. First, they showed up at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday with matching black and white designs, but that was nothing compared to their manicures for the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards on Thursday. The couple went for a black and pink motif, and Kelly wore extra-long acrylics on one hand that measure three inches.
Ariana Grande is still basking in bridal bliss, as evidenced in part by her latest award show beauty look. The day after sharing photos from her intimate wedding to Dalton Gomez earlier in the month, the singer appeared at the 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards to perform her remix of “Save Your Tears” with The Weeknd. In a sweet twist, Grande appeared to recreate the same hairstyle she wore at her wedding.
A-listers did not disappoint at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. While this year’s award season has been spread out over many months during the pandemic, that didn’t stop some of our favorite musicians from going all out on the red carpet. The singer walked the red carpet wearing a bright-green Fendi suit with a black tank top peeking out from underneath.
The 2021 iHeartRadio Music Awards had barely begun before Demi Lovato stole the show with a new mullet haircut. Dressed in a purple pantsuit and matching manicure with smoky eye makeup and sharp brows, the edgy new hairstyle complemented the singer’s look perfectly. After rocking a pixie cut for the last six-plus months, the retro style, which is shorter in the front and slightly longer in the back, feels just right for the award show and beyond.
There’s no telling what you’re going to get on the Billboard Music Awards red carpet. This year, as Covid-19 restrictions lift around the country, it seems like the celebrities are not holding back. From Alicia Key’s bright pink suit and oversized cape to Priyanka Chopra’s stunning high-slit gown, the outfits were colorful and completely over-the-top.
It may be a sort of last hoorah before the official end of red-carpet season, but the best looks from the 2021 Billboard Music Awards at Los Angeles’s Microsoft Theater have set the tone for the months to come. Between the unofficial sorbet color trend seen from the likes of Saweetie and Alicia Keys, and the opulent amounts of embellishments and graphic lines seen on the night’s big winner, Doja Cat, the attendees weren’t afraid to go all out.
On Sunday night, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards brought together Doja Cat, Alicia Keys, P!NK, the Jonas Brothers, and more for a night of music. While walking the red carpet, attendees were anything but subtle. Machine Gun Kelly showed up sans undershirt in a Balmain suit with his tongue painted black, while H.E.R. wore head-to-toe sequins. But the real sartorial highlight of the evening were the cut-out looks. And no, we’re not talking about a cold shoulder or keyhole slit — these were some of the sexiest cut-outs we’ve seen in a while. While accompanying twin flame Machine Gun Kelly — who went on to win a BBMA for Top Rock Artist — Megan Fox wore a barely-there black dress from Mugler’s spring ‘21 ready-to-wear collection. The form-fitting silhouette featured a series of curvy cut-outs on the front and back, as well as a sheer, midi-length skirt. Stylist Maeve Reilly added Jimmy Choo platform heels and Shay Jewelry to complete the can’t-miss look. View this post on Instagram A post shared by SZA (@sza) Following suit was SZA whose fall ‘21 Monôt dress, too, featured all-over cut-outs. The dress included a waist-length slit up one side and several oblong cut-outs across the front. Later in the night, when she took the stage to perform “Kiss Me More” with Doja Cat, SZA changed into a two-piece Mugler corset look. Doja, who walked the red carpet in a black-and-white Balmain co-ord, also changed for the performance. Her on-stage look? A long-sleeved, cut-out set, also by Balmain. Capping off the trend, Karol G, who won a BBMA for Top Female Latin Artist, wore a sparkling Celia Kritharioti naked dress, featuring a large, diamond-shaped cut-out that showed off her midriff. This red carpet arrived just under a month after the Academy Awards, where A-listers like Zendaya, Carey Mulligan, Andra Day, and Vanessa Kirby all took to the red carpet wearing peek-a-boo looks. We’re sensing a red carpet trend brewing. Now, all we have to do is wait for the 2021 Emmys to find out just how serious it really is. Like what you see? Megan Fox knows what it takes to make a memorable red carpet moment; she practically wrote the book on it. For more than a decade, she has consistently shown up to premieres and award shows in some of the sexiest outfits we’ve ever seen. Most recently, she made headlines for her barely-there Mugler ensemble (and PDA-packed poses with boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly), but let’s not forget the sultry and stylish dresses that came before.
