Viewers of the award-winning ITV gameshow The Chase took to Twitter to vent their frustrations at the celebrity format.

The programme often has specials with a star-studded line up as celebrities compete to win money for their chosen charities.

But some fans of the show were unhappy with the questions in the celeb version as opposed to the normal editions.

Many felt the questions were too easy on today’s show, particularly in the cash builder rounds.

With The Chase having a reputation for its tricky questions and tough format, some viewers felt the celebrity questions weren’t true to the competition.

One, @amnr1 said on Twitter: “Just watching the celebrity #thechase and cannot believe how easy these questions are.”

Another @ciki_mac said: “The questions on #TheChase #Celebrity are 100% easier than those on the normal series.”

@DaveMiester said: “LoL at these questions”

The celebrity specials sees a variety of stars go up against the chasers, tonight Dane Baptiste, Anita Rani and Mark Pougatch went head-to-head with Anne Hegerty for £120,000.

They answered 18 questions correctly and celebrated their big win as The Governess failed to stop them.

*The Chase is on ITV1, weekdays from 5pm and weekends from 5.30pm.

*This was a repeat from last October.
