  • I’m A Celebrity: Mike Tindall Not Alone In Reality Tv Stint As Royal Relative Signs Up For Another Show – Gloucestershire Live

 November 3

by Carolina

In just a few days, ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’ will return to the Australian jungle to humble celebrities with weeks of sleeping in hammocks and the less than lavish diet of rice and beans. One of the famous faces making up this year’s cohort – said to be the ‘richest ever’ line up – is the Gatcombe Park-residing royal and ex-Gloucester Rugby player Mike Tindall.

Mike, who is married to the late Queen’s granddaughter, Zara Tindall, is set to enter the Jungle, where he will be sentenced to eat crude animal body parts and face critters like spiders, rats, and cockroaches in Bushtucker Trials, in just a few days. When his appearance in this year’s Australia-filmed series was rumoured, members of the public and press questioned whether Mike had sought permission from his royal superiors – the likes of the new King Charles III and Camilla, Queen Consort.

When asked if he sought permission from senior members of the Royal Family after touching down in Brisbane last week, Mike bluntly hit back: “It’s not something I need to tell you though is it.”

But it seems that Mike is not the only royal set to appear on reality television very soon. According to The Sun, Princess Olga Romanoff, a cousin of the late Queen, has reportedly signed up to star in The Big Celebrity Detox, and was working on the programme when the Queen passed away at Balmoral in September.

A source told the publication that the Princess, once a potential match for King Charles III in his youth, was ‘a huge signing’ for the show, which is set to follow celebrities as they try out a range of health trends and wellness treatments. Martin Roberts, who is best known for his work on Homes Under The Hammer, is set to present the programme.

The insider told The Sun: “She had no airs and graces and threw herself into all the different therapies, which included some stars having to down their own wee,”

According to the source, it was ‘really difficult’ for the 72-year-old royal when the Queen passed away, and she was granted time off from filming to watch her State Funeral. They continued: “Despite this, Olga gave the show her all and was a really good sport.”

The news of Princess Olga’s reality stint comes after the announcement that Mike will be the first member of the Royal Family to go on ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!’. Mike will be joined by a galaxy of British stars and public figures, including radio royalty Chris Moyles, Culture Club legend Boy George, and, controversially, former Health Secretary Matt Hancock.
