However, if you’re concerned about your own personal environmental impact or are new to sustainable fashion and looking for more ethically made sneakers, you might not know where to start. It’s no secret that there are a plethora of brands and styles to choose from when it comes to finding the perfect pair of sneakers for your personal style.

Thankfully, many brands prioritize product quality and sustainability, so if you’re looking for a pair of sneakers that benefit everyone from the consumer to the hard workers who make the product, keep reading to learn why buying ethically made sneakers will always outweigh buying fast fashion and footwear.

Diego Low Top is a super ethical pair of sneakers that you shouldn’t miss out on. 100% living wages, 0% net carbon emissions are smart enough for work and casual enough for the weekend.

Sneaker Manufacturing’s Environmental Impact

Not every pair of sneakers is created equal. The production of sneakers undoubtedly contributes to that percentage, which is likely higher in today’s climates given that the study used data from 2018. According to a study conducted by MIT, the manufacturing process accounts for two-thirds of the carbon impact of running shoes and sneakers, which is why it’s critical to pay attention to how a product is created and manufactured. According to a report published in 2020, the fashion industry is responsible for 4% of global greenhouse gas emissions, which is staggering to say the least.

Not only is the manufacturing process important in determining how sustainable a company’s footwear products are, but the materials used in sneaker production also have an impact on the environment and society. They are more durable than natural materials and make perfect sense for producing a long-lasting product because sneakers are subjected to more wear and tear than Oxfords, brogues, or other dress shoes. Furthermore, because sneakers are often made of a mix of different plastics and/or synthetic materials, recycling them is extremely difficult, and many sneakers end up in landfills. Many sneakers are made primarily of plastic or synthetic materials that resemble plastic.

With that in mind, it’s critical to look for companies and brands that are also Certified B Corporations when looking for a more ethical and sustainable pair of sneakers.

What Exactly Is a B Corporation?

A company must “meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose” in order to be designated as a Certified B Corporation. Nisolo, a company that sells both men’s and women’s shoes, as well as other sustainably sourced and made products, is quickly becoming one of fashion’s go-to brands for ethically made shoes.

Why Is Nisolo One of the Best-Rated Ethically Made Shoe Brands?

Nisolo is one of the top-rated Certified B Corporations in the fashion industry, and according to their website, “100% of the people creating products in our factory earn a living wage,” indicating that the company is not only one of the best options for adding sustainable clothing and accessories to your closet, but it is also a company that values its employees.

Nisolo also uses solar panels on the roofs of their factories to reduce carbon emissions, protects “111,406,473 sq ft of the Amazon Basin from deforestation” to offset carbon emissions, and has an up-cycling and recycling program for their footwear to keep shoes out of landfills.

What Is The Best Way To Wear Ethically Made Sneakers?

Sneakers, as previously mentioned, can be dressed up or down and are an absolute wardrobe staple that everyone should own. You shouldn’t stick to just one pair of sneakers. Let’s answer the age-old question that many people have when it comes to footwear: how do you style sneakers? Now that you’re well-versed in the world of sneaker production and the impact the fashion industry has on the environment, let’s answer the age-old question that many people have when it comes to footwear: how do you style sneakers?

Not only are the Diego Low Top Sneakers available in six different colors, ensuring that you’ll find one that matches your personal style, but they’re also made from Leather Working Group Certified leather, which is as environmentally friendly as raw materials for footwear get.

The Nisolo Diego Low Top Sneaker is a versatile shoe.

If you go with a neutral color like Bone or Tobacco, you can wear them with anything from dark denim to chinos in bright colors, patterns, or neutrals, and top it off with a crisp short or long sleeve button down or a high-quality plain t-shirt or graphic tee. When it comes to what to wear these kicks with, the color you choose is obviously important, so start there. An outfit like this is ideal for daytime events and activities, such as visiting the museum, going out to eat with your family, or simply running errands.

If you choose a darker color, such as Dark Olive or Black, you can pair the Diego Low Top Sneakers with more formal attire, such as business casual, “smart casual” (think engagement party, fancy BBQ or cookout, or even a wedding, depending on the dress code), or even dark, destroyed denim and a leather jacket for an ultra-cool, casual “I just got off my Harley” vibe.

The bottom line is that sneakers will always have a place in fashion (and your closet), so no matter what you pair them with, the most important factor to consider when choosing a more ethical pair of sneakers isn’t just how they look, but how they’re made, what they’re made of, and how they affect who and what is involved in their production.

Although Kentucky produces the majority of America’s whiskey, California is experiencing a gold rush.

From Master Blender Monty Paulsen, a second-generation winemaker with deep roots in the San Francisco area, comes the award-winning Gold Bar Whiskey, a tremendously smooth yet quintessentially American whiskey.

Paulsen, a proud native of the San Francisco Bay Area, has spent 25 years in the winemaking industry and is as knowledgeable as they come. In the 1970s, at his family’s Pat Paulsen Vineyard in Sonoma, he developed an interest in both wine and spirits.

Since then, he’s worked with some of the most prestigious wineries in Napa and Sonoma counties, with Gold Bar Whiskey being his crowning achievement.

Whiskey Gold Bar

A mash bill of 88% corn, 9% rye, and 3% barley provides flavor and smoothness, which is aided by a premium finish in carefully selected Napa Valley wine casks before being bottled at an enjoyable 40% ABV.

Each bottle of Gold Bar Whiskey has a smooth body with honey and fruit notes that contrast nicely with lashings of spice and woody accents to create a balanced yet complex expression.

The Denver International Spirits Competition awarded Gold Bar Whiskey Best in Show, and the San Francisco Spirits Competition awarded it Double Gold.

This is a high-quality Californian craft whiskey that’s great for sipping neat or with whiskey stones, but it’s also versatile enough to use in a complex premium whiskey cocktail.

Whiskey Gold Bar

A replica collector quality brass “Lady of Fortune” coin is hand-pressed into each 750 ml bottle. The coin known as the “Lady of Fortune” is also a symbol of good fortune and prosperity. Each coin represents American craftsmanship and the rich history of Gold Bar whiskey, as designed by renowned Californian artist Steven Noble.

Another reason why Gold Bar Whiskey is a worthy addition to your home bar is because of the eye-catching bottle design. Each gold bar-shaped bottle is individually numbered, with its unique bottle number, blend number, and bottle lot etched on the three foil stamped labels, in addition to the collector coin.
