Hampshire – the home of the wonderful New Forest, Royal Navy aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth and….. Hugo Hammond from Love Island 2021.
That’s right, not only is Hampshire the home of beautiful scenery and enormous vessels but it is also home to A-list, B-list and even Z-list celebrities.
But where could I possibly bump into one of these celebs I here you ask?
Well, today we’ve picked out a few locations across the county where you might just be able to spot one.
Of course, we offer no guarantees on where you can find some of these lesser-spotted celebrities but we’ve taken our best guess over where they could pop up.
From stunning hotels to villages where they live, here’s where you could pick up a few cheeky autographs.
The Chewton Glen Hotel
Oh let’s start with all out luxury shall we.
Holly Willoughby has previously spent her birthday at the resort, while more recently the hotel posted photos of X-Factor star Olly Murs enjoying the facilities.
Last year a line up of celebs including Elton John and radio DJ Chris Evans assembled for a charity fundraiser at the hotel.
The second-largest city in Hampshire, Portsmouth has produced a range of famous faces over the years.
If you weren’t happy with just one Love Island star in this article then you’ll be thrilled to hear Portsmouth was also once home to Winter Love Island star Demi Jones.
Of course you may also bump into some famous footballers in the city who play for the blues.
I know what you’re thinking, who on earth am I going to spot in the small East Hampshire town of Alton?
Well, how about a TV legend and, well, a TV legend.
First up is garden broadcasting royalty Alan Titchmarsh. The presenter has lived in a Grade II-listed Georgian farmhouse in the Alton area for a over 20 years.
If you’re lucky you may also stumble across another famous face from the TV in Love Island star Hugo Hammond.
The former school teacher reportedly has links to the Alton area and after not find love in the villa could be searching the streets of Alton for love.
Best make sure you’re looking your best for Mr Hammond ladies.
Old Thorns Hotel
A short drive across East Hampshire from Alton and the Old Thorns Hotel near Liphook is no stranger to celebrity faces.
My former place of employment, during my time working at the site I once bumped into comedian John Bishop in the car park who was on his way to the state-of-the-art gym.
I also served Game of Thrones and 1917 actor Dean-Charles Chapman at a wedding and former Southampton star Matt Le Tissier has been in attendance at functions.
A long shot this one, but it would be nice if Amanda Holden was spotted going for a stroll in the town where she grew up.
The Heart Radio and Britain’s Got Talent judge grew up in the town before finding television and theatre success.
Who knows, perhaps she does enjoy a visit to Sainsbury’s Local before a quick pint in The Priory Inn.
The New Forest
With stunning locations including Hampshire’s ‘poshest’ village, you may spot a celeb or two in the area.
Back in November One Direction star Louis Tomlinson made a surprise visit to a New Forest pub and the area is also home to television presenter Chris Packham.
Back in October the Springwatch presenter revealed that hate campaigners blew up a Land Rover outside his front gate.
TV presenter Esther Rantzen also has a home in New Forest.
Mountbatten House Basingstoke
Hang around long enough and you may just spot a famous television or film star here at some point.
Filming was reportedly taking place back in December for The Crown at the Grade II listed building which is famed for its roof garden.
It is likely stars Elizabeth Debicki, who is portraying Princess Diana in the final two seasons, and Dominic West, who is playing Prince Charles, were at the building to shoot scenes.
A day earlier they were both spotted in Winchester filming.
On two other occasions in 2021 film crews were seen set up at the building.
If it’s movie stars you’re after then the new Farnborough Film Studios could also be a good location for celeb spotting, with Guy Ritchie spotted back in September.
Musician Craig David, The Crown actor Josh O’Connor and X Factor winner Matt Cardle were all born in Southampton.
If you look carefully you may also get lucky and spot some famous footballers taking some time away from training to enjoy city life in Southampton.
Wait, is that James Ward-Prowse in Greggs?
