Did you know that some of the biggest names in entertainment went to schools in Colorado Springs?

If you’re a Colorado Springs school graduate, there are several reasons to keep your head a little higher.

Marc Webb includes 500 Days of Summer (2009), Gifted (2017), Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015), and, as his name implies, The Amazing Spider-Man franchise (2012). Best known for the film’s directorial work.

Prior to being in Hollywood, Webb called Colorado Springs his hometown and was a graduate of the University of Colorado in 1996.

Jon Watts is a director, producer and screenwriter, and recently played the role of director in several Phase 3 films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Watts gives Spider-Man another connection with Colorado Springs as he is the director of Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home and will oversee Spider-Man: Noway Home. He will also direct a Fantastic Four movie in the coming months.

Watt graduated from Fountain Fort Carson High School in 1999. He returned to the area to film the 2015 Cop Car starring Kevin Bacon.

Megan Bomgaars starred in A & E’s Emmy Award-winning reality television show “Born This Way” from 2015 to 2020. Bomgaars was a member of the primary cast of young adults with Down Syndrome.

She is also a national advocate and has participated in several national modeling campaigns.

Bomgaars attended the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs and is now Get a degree in film studies..

Cassandra Peterson, widely known as Elvira the Mistress of the Dark, graduated from William J. Palmer High School in downtown Colorado Springs in 1969.

Her career as an actress, singer-songwriter and dancer spanned nearly 40 years. Her classic Elvira image and brand has become synonymous with Gothic culture and the horror genre.

Ryan Tedder is the most well-known and decorated singer-songwriter in his work as lead vocalist for rock band OneRepublic. Over the span of Tedder’s career, he was nominated for nine Grammy Awards and won three.

Tedder grew up in Colorado Springs and attended the Colorado Springs Christian School. There, he first met his future bandmate, Zack Filmins, on the Colorado Springs Christian School football team.
