  • Father’s Day: Celebrity fathers doing parenthood right – EastMojo

 June 20

by Carolina

Many male celebrities today are breaking stereotypes to flaunt their dad duties, proving to many that baby care is not just a mother’s job.

In a society where gender roles are predefined and rigid, providing financial support is counted as the predominant ‘fatherly’ duty when it comes to taking care of kids. So it is heartening to see when our celebrity dads give a new meaning to fatherhood by simply taking care or spending time with their children.

So ahead of this Father’s Day, let’s take a look at some Indian celebrities being adorable dads, much as they ought to:

Virat Kohli

From taking paternity leave to be with his wife Anushka Sharma, who was due to deliver the baby, to hilariously giving an ad, which shows fathers from across the country giving the ace cricketer tips on how to be a hands-on dad, Virat Kohli has done it all.

Watch the ad below:

Despite massive trolling for “dissing” an important cricket match, he chose to be with his wife, which was enough to set an example that it is easy and right to take a stand to take care of your partner and child.

Hardik Pandya

This heart-warming picture of Hardik Pandya feeding milk to his newborn son Agastya has been loved by his millions of fans.

Just after Hardik’s son was born, he had to go to the UAE for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). So, the cricketer had to compensate for the days he missed being with his son.

He tweeted this photo and wrote: “From national duty to father duty.”

Kapil Sharma

Comedian Kapil Sharma stepped forward to normalise paternity leave. When asked about why his show has off air, he tweeted: “Bcoz I need be there at home with my wife to welcome our second baby.”

Karan Johar

The director-producer considered a father figure by many actors in the Indian film industry, chose to be a single father in 2017 through surrogacy. Now, Karan Johar is a proud father of two adorable kids, Yash and Roohi.

Time to time, he shares their cute and savage moments on Instagram.

Tusshar Kapoor

Son of veteran actor Jitendra Kapoor, Tusshar also chose the unconventional route to parenthood. After expressing that his desire to be a father was greater than being a husband, Tusshar became a father through surrogacy in June 2016, when his son Laksshay was born.

Honourable mention: Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

The Rock does not shy away from sharing adorable moments with his three daughters. Recently, he shared a heartwarming video on Instagram about how “Being a father of daughters made me gentle.”

This video is going viral since then.

“Every man wants a son, but every man NEEDS a daughter,” The Rock captioned the video, adding, “Thank God for that quote because I have a house of all girls and full of Estrogen.”

His advice to dads around the world? “Just be there”

Take a look at the video:

Happy Father’s Day to all the awesome dads out there!
