Dave Grohl was “fascinated” when he first met Sir Paul McCartney and Sir Ringo Starr.

The Foo Fighters frontman recalls a meeting with both surviving Beatles members in his latest entry on the blog “The True Story of Dave,” admitting that the experience remains “forever blurry.”

Dave recalled being approached by Dani Harrison, the son of the late Fab for member George Harrison, to perform in a tribute concert to his father at the Royal Albert Hall in London in 2002.

A 52-year-old musician said, “I noticed Paul McCartney chatting with my friends from the corner of my eyes and had to stare at him. He was there.”

The Nirvana drummer continued. “What happened next remains ambiguous forever. I don’t remember exactly how Paul and I were introduced, what was said, and how much we talked about, but we did our best. I remember. “It’s the most incredible thing that has ever happened when trying not to make a fool of yourself. “

Dave explained that he called his mother Virginia because he bought his first electric guitar and Beatles songbook as a kid after encountering two musical legends.

The star recalled: “Every day she sat in front of a public school record player she brought back from work and saw me pull my little finger to form code within those pages.”
