Chris Kirkpatrick will compete on Celebrity Big Brother 3. Learn more about him and what he has been up to since his days with the pop group, *NSYNC.

Fans of *NSYNC were delighted when they heard that Chris Kirkpatrick will be a contestant on Celebrity Big Brother 3. Fifty-year-old Chris will compete against 10 other celebrities for the $250,000 prize that some people think may be even higher this season after Big Brother 23 raised the amount of prize money from $500,000 to $750,000. Chris is a fan of the show, and in an interview with Us Weeklyrevealed that his favorite players are Derrick Levasseur, Derek Xiao, Xavier Prather, Jackson Michie, and Ian Terry.

Chris was born in Clarion, Pennsylvania, and music was always a part of his life. He is a singer, dancer, songwriter, and music producer. In 1990, he moved to Orlando, Florida, where he had a job singing at Universal Studios as a member of The Hollywood Hi-Tones, a doo-wop group. In 1994, while performing with the group, he was introduced to Lou Pearlman, who was interested in forming a new vocal group after his success with the Backstreet Boys. That group would become *NSYNC. Although most people associate Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez with *NSYNC, it was actually Chris who became the founding member of the group. It took him about a year to find Justin and JC and accept them into the group. Joey Fatone, who was also working at Universal Studios, later joined them, and after a difficult search for a bass singer, Justin’s vocal coach helped them find Lance Bass. In September 1995, *NSYNC was officially a pop group.

Chris skyrocketed to fame with *NSYNC, and the group sold over 70 million records worldwide. Their albums, NSYNC (1997), Home for Christmas (1998), No Strings Attached (2000), and Celebrity (2001), are among the most successful of all-time. Their music videos dominated MTV’s Total Request Live video countdown, and were praised for their creativity and artistry. Although they never officially broke up, the whole group has not performed together since August 2013 during a performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, when Justin received the Video Vanguard Award. In April 2019, *NSYNC reunited without Justin for a one-night only performance at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

After his time with *NSYNC, Chris was the lead singer of his alternative rock band, Nigel’s 11, beginning in 2007, and wrote their songs. From 2002 to 2009, he was the voice actor for the character of Chip Skylark on the Nickelodeon animated television series, The Fairly OddparentsHe sang on the show, and his songs became popular with his fans. In 2007, he starred in the reality show, Mission Man Band, with Bryan Abrams from Color Me Badd, Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, and the late Rich Cronin from LFO. The show was about boy band members from the 1990s coming together to form the group, Sureshot. They recorded three songs and performed live at some events. In 2008, Chris participated in another reality showGone Country season 2. In this show, Chris competed against other contestants such as Sebastian Bach and Jermaine Jackson to write and perform an original country song. Although Sebastian won the competition, host John Rich praised Chris for the country song that he wrote and said that it could be a number one country hit.

Chris avoided the spotlight for many years, but he was always working on other projects. In 2004, he founded the non-profit organization, the Chris Kirkpatrick Foundation, whose mission is to help underprivileged children in central Florida by providing health care and educational programs. In 2013, Chris got married to Karlyn M. Skladany. They had their son, Nash Dylan, in October 2017. They currently live in Nashville, Tennessee. Most recently, in 2021, Chris appeared in the ABC special, A Very Boy Band Holiday, alongside some of the most famous and beloved boy band members of the past few decades. During the show, he performed classic holiday songs alongside Joey Fatone and members of New Edition, New Kids on the Block, Boyz II Men, 98 Degrees, and O-Town.

Chris keeps fans updated on his television and podcast appearances through his Instagram page. His last post before he entered the Celebrity Big Brother house was a video that introduced the cast, which he captioned, “Surprise!” Fans of *NSYNC were thrilled when Chris’ name was included on the list. Because he is a fan of the game, he will have knowledge about its dynamics that may give him an advantage. Hopefully, Chris will make it to the end without being evicted and will not have to say “Bye Bye Bye.”
