Herefordshire might not rival the Cotswolds or leafy Cheshire when it comes to star spotting but more than a few famous faces have made this county their home.
Then there are those who were born and bred here, who know those back roads around Hereford like the back of their hands and can remember the old Leisure Centre and Cattle Market.
We’ve pulled together a list of some of the famous sons and daughters of Herefordshire, the stars you might spot nowadays and the ones with true links to the county.
Actress, model and queen of the swimsuit selfie, Elizabeth Hurley swapped her Cotswold farm for a manor house on the edge of the county a few years ago. If you follow her Instagram you’ll spot the grounds of her luxury home feature heavily in her photos. She lives near Bromsberrow Heath, not far from Ledbury. Keep your eyes out for her in Waitrose.
If you’ve not seen him somewhere in Herefordshire are you sure you even live here? The pint sized presenter lives in a castle over at Weston-under-Penyard, where his planning applications have raised more than few eyebrows. He is a regular at charity and community events and you can’t miss some of his fancy cars when he’s out and about.
You’d probably walk past him in the street but the voice of this Hereford born actor is known across the world. The distinctive tones of the Cookie Monster, Miss Piggy and Yoda, they are all thanks to Frank. A talented puppeteer, he’s been a key player with the Muppets, where as well as Miss Piggy he has brought life to Fozzie Bear, Animal and Sam Eagle.

The one everyone knows about, Ellie grew up here, she went to Lady Hawkins’ School and Hereford Sixth Form College. Now the new mum lives just over the border with her partner Casper Jopling.
Probably Britain’s favourite gardener (sorry Alan Titchmarsh), Montagu Denis, Wyatt Don, known to all as Monty is best known for his work on Gardener’s World. But Monty isn’t born and bred here, he was actually born in Germany and only moved to Herefordshire in 1989. He’s moved around the county a little bit since then and is currently based in Ivington.
