Saget was found unresponsive and was declared dead on site, according to the Orange County Sheriff’s office. No cause of death has been confirmed at this time, but officials say there was no sign of drug use or foul play.
Saget became a staple in American households, earning the nickname “America’s dad” both as Danny Danner on the sitcom Full House, which aired from 1987-1995, and as the host of America’s Funniest Home Videos from 1989-1997.
Following the news of his death, many celebrities paid tribute to Bob Saget, who was universally beloved in the stand-up comedy world and in Hollywood. Many of his Full House costars honored Saget, including John Stamos, Dave Coulier, and the Olsen twins, as well as many comedians, including Billy Crystal, Jim Carrey, and Whoopi Goldberg.
