Cat Deeley was the latest victim of one of Ant and Dec’s pranks on Saturday Night Takeaway.

The former presenting trio reunited twice during Saturday night’s show – first as part of the popular ‘Undercover’ segment and second for a Chums reunion for SM:TV live fans.

Ant and Dec had their work cut out this time as Cat was convinced that if they ever tried to trick her, she’d know it was them.

So in a bid to distract her, the Geordie duo convinced her she was spending the day promoting her children’s book, when she was actually being filmed by hidden cameras.

The sketch culminated in Ant donning a koala costume while Dec acted as the director as Cat believed she was filming for CBeebies Bedtime Story.

This saw Dec giving instructions to Ant via an earpiece as Cat attempted to read her book, The Joy in You.

However, the ultimate prank saw Ant knock over a candle which ended in a small fire before their identities were uncovered.

As Dec came running down the stair from the gallery, Cat instantly recognised her long-time pal before a rather sweaty Ant took off his large koala head.

But Cat won the heart of viewers for one simple reason.

“I love how Cat actually went to save the koala bear #SaturdayNightTakeaway,” tweeted on viewer.

Another said: “Actually nearly crying that Cat Deeley ran towards the fire to save the ‘work experience kid’ #saturdaynighttakeaway,” as Cat was told that’s who was hiding in the costume.

“How bloody lovely is cat deeley, sets on fire and she still tries to save the bear – love her! #Saturdaynighttakeaway,” a third added.

A fourth said: “Cat Deeley running to save the bear from the fire bless her, what a lovely lady. Can’t believe @antanddec managed to pull that undercover off, Cat knows them too well lol #SaturdayNightTakeaway.”

“Cat Deeley is my new favourite celebrity after she went back to save the bear #SaturdayNightTakeaway,” a fifth added.
