The comedian is the younger brother of presenter Jeremy Vine, 56.

Best known for hosting Channel 5’s ‘Jeremy Vine’, the journalist and presenter’s career began in 1987 when he began training with the Coventry Evening Telegraph.

Speaking about the previous sibling competition, Jeremy told Saga Magazine: “I felt more threatened. I was the geeky one – the nerd. Tim had all the friends. I didn’t have any really and was constantly going, ‘I’ve only got two friends and Tim’s 18.”

But the Channel 5 host says he’s now more protective over his younger brother.

Jeremy continued: “But the weird thing is that now I do feel incredibly protective. When Tim won the award for best one-liner at the Edinburgh Festival in 2010, I was listening to Evan Davis on Radio 4’s Today programme.

“He read it out: ‘I’ve just been on a once-in-a-lifetime holiday. I’ll tell you what never again. ‘ Then he said, ‘It’s quite funny, but the best joke of the fringe?’ I was furious. I wanted to to throw my radio out of the window.”

For ten years Tim held the record for the most jokes told in one hour. Holding the title until 2014, the jokes had to make the paying audience laugh in order to be counted.

Tim and Jeremy also have a sister called Sonya.
