Alicia Keys had to stop “finding someone else and getting all the answers” before she was “confident” in herself.
The “Girl on Fire” hit maker has embarked on a journey to build confidence. She initially stated that she did not have enough conviction to answer questions about the world.
Alicia is proud to be able to “remain loyal” to herself, but also states that she learned a lot about herself in the process of finding self-confidence.
She told PeopleTV: I am confident in myself.
“There is no doubt that I can’t trust that I remain completely loyal to myself. More that I have learned about being able to be stronger for myself.”
The 40-year-old singer spoke while promoting the new YouTube Originals documentary “Note: Alicia Keys The Untold Stories.”
In the series, Alicia elaborated on her complex relationship with her father, Craig Cook, and asked if she regretted it at some point, saying, “Yes, it’s your relationship.”
And talking to People TV, Alicia said she was grateful that her father, who was connected as an adult, was able to open her heart after being raised as a single mother.
She said: “He was especially grateful that he could say that I could have appeared.” For you as well as your mother. It gave me a feeling of almost apology. We can almost admit these things that happened and we move forward from them. “
